PAC-NET HOLDS FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH- ENLIGHTENS THE PUBLIC ON COMMUNITY BASE HEALTH INSURANCE


South East PAC-Net in collaboration with Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON) recently held free medical outreach programme in two local government areas of Anambra State- Idemili North and Nnewi North LGA�s. The outreaches were conducted at Nkpor and Nnewi respectively. Adult and children with various ailments were seen and treated during the programm which paraded an array of healthcare professionals � Doctors, Nurses, Laboratory Technologies and Students most whom are members of the youth wing of South-East PAC-Net. The Nnewi outreach was preceded by a courtesy visit to the Traditional Ruler, His Royal Highness Igwe Kenneth Orizu III, who gave his fatherly blessing to the outreach programme. The key message of the medical outreaches was advocacy to the client on Community Base Health Insurance Scheme (CBHS), which is one of the cardinal thrust of Federal Government towards achieving and improved and quality health for all under a universal National Health Insurance Scheme. The Nkpor outreach programme witnessed an advocacy public enlightenment on Community Health Insurance Scheme by the Anambra state direction of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Sir. Mike Agu. Apart from the public health talk, medical consultation, investigation and treatment, the attendees to the medical outreach also had lunch and everyone went home with a gift item.
