YOUTH WING SE-PAC-Net HOLDS ITS 4TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING-Inaugurates new EXCO.The youth wing of Southeast Post Abortion Care Network (PAC-Net) recently held its 2012 general and scientific Advocacy meeting at Nnewi. The meeting which was attended by members and delegates from the 5 States of Southeast zone witnessed the sent-forth of the final year student-members and the induction of new members. In the guest lecture delivered by Dr. Emeka Ezeama, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at NAUTH Nnewi titled.Engaging the Youths for Organizational Growth. Dr. Ezeama x-rayed the characteristics and peculiarities of young persons, the prerequisite to effective leadership and their influence on national development. Youths, he said should be adequately empowered mentally and physically to meet up with the emerging challenges of globalization and sustainable development. The guest of honour on the occasion and the coordinator of PAC-Net Prof. J.I.B Adinma in his remarks explained what PAC-Net stands for and gave a historical account of the origin and progress of PAC-Net. He highlighted the thematic areas to include advocacy, research, clinical services and training. He further made it clear that PAC-Net stands for service and encourage the youth to remain selfless in their effort to promote the sexual and reproductive rights of women.Highlight of the occasion was the swearing in of the new EXCO members, the induction of new members and the presentation of gift and certificate to members of final year class of various disciplines. The new (2012/2013) key officers of the youth-wing PAC-Net include; Miss Onyinye Obiakor (Co-ordinator), Mr. Steve Ilione (Deputy co-ordinator), Miss Yvonne Obidiebube (Secretary), Miss Judith Egolum (Treasurer), Mr. Emmanuel Nebuwa, (Advocacy Co-ordinator), Mr. Samuel Okorie (Research Co-ordinator), Mr. Kenechukwu Maduekwe (PRO 1), and Mr. Ebuka Anaekwe (PRO II). In her speech following induction, the new PAC-Net (youth wing) Co-ordinator Miss Onyinye Obiakor, the first female coordinator of PAC-Net youth wing, pledged to serve with transparency and accountability and do her best towards moving he Network to a higher level. She enlisted the cooperation of both the parent PAC-Net and her fellows in the youth wing to enable a remarkable tenure. She further presented a cake which was cut and appreciated by many of the participants. Amongst important persons present at the occasion were Dr. Joseph Ugboaja consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist who represented the Anambra State PAC-Net Coordinator Dr. L. Ikeakor, Dr Louis Nwajiaku, Miss Chioma Osuji, P.R.O Anambra PAC-Net in addition to Prof. Brian Adinma and Emeka Ezeama earlier mentioned
