IPAS PARTNERS WITH PAC-NET AND NAUTH TO TRAIN HOUSE OFFICERS ON PAC AND THE USE OF MANUAL VACCUM ASPIRATOR

Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Theatre-complex hall was the venue of the training on PAC and the use of Manual Vaccum Aspirator. Conducted for the 2014/2015 Batch of House officers at NAUTH. A total of one hundred and fourteen (114) internship doctors participated in the training aimed at building their capacity towards this important high-impact obstetrics intervention targeted at reducing maternal mortality from Abortion and its complication. Four facilitators impacted these skills to the young interns � Prof. Brian D Adinma, the lead trainers and coordinators of South-East PAC-Net and Drs.EbelechukwuAnugwu, Obi Nwosu and Joe Ugbaja. The training expose the interns towards PAC and use of MVA which they were expected to continue practising for the remaining part of their internship programme thereby achieving considerable mastery of the practice which they are expected to employ during their youth service corps programme. At the end of the training each participants acquired an MVA Kits in addition to a certificate of participation.
